Just got these from a rescue. Apparently they're well bred but the breeder got overwhelmed so he upped and left them. They're about 5 weeks old, female, red-eyed argente campbell's.

(oops a bit of millet husk on her face)

They're actually very tame and handle-able already. No hard bites off of them, occasionally a small nip here or there but they're not jumpy or super-fast. Happy to sit in your hand or walk from hand to hand :)

Does *anyone* remember an animated version of The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe that isn't the 1979 BBC version that looks extra cartoony? There was a really good version I remember watching many times as a kid because we taped it off the TV, possibly HBO, mid-80s I think because I remember being *really* young watching it. Google and IMDB do not concur with my brains.
There's apparently an animated version from 1967 but I didn't think it looked that old when I watched it. There's no photos/screenshots from that version and it's not available on tape so I'm not sure if that's what I'm looking for :/ (edit: er, it seems that that was in B&W and what I was watching was definately in colour. grr.)

Note to self, go back sometime this week to see and sniff

Spot the chihuly. These large (over a yard/meter in height) vases were common in the Temperate House as well but I didn't get any photos in there

This one was easier to spot.

Reeds (the tall thin things) and Baskets (the round bowls) in with the dry tropics plantings

Reeds. They're about 10ft tall some of them, just to give you the sort of scale of how big the plants, especially the agaves, are. This is usually my favourite "scene" at Kew anyway and I'm not sure if I like the density of the glass reeds blocking the view of the other plants. At other parts of the garden, the glass is more tucked away and hidden than this.

A smaller cluster behind all that red & purple. Strangely this looks okay to me because it compliments the cactus which is a similar thickness and upright style to the blue reeds.

Green Grasses. These were originally leaves for another project but Chihuly has grouped them together to make a rather nice cluster of "grass".

They had a special hands-on session too where they let you handle smaller pieces of chuhily glass. They're actually very heavy and thick glass so all the wire holding the pieces together must be unbelieveably strong.

These are all the seeds I have. All of them should do well in containers as well as in the ground. Organic ones have been noted as such for those of you into the organic thing.

Flowers:
Black cornflowers
blue morning glory 'Heavenly Blue'
Nasturtium 'Dwarf Compact Mixed'
Sunflower 'Big Smile' (a mini sunflower)
Pansy ' Swiss Giant'
Pansy ' Winter Flowering Mixed'

Herbs:
Summer Savory smells and tastes like a combination of mint and thyme, Very interesting but nice herb, grows around beans and repeals beanbeetle
Sage
Thyme
Mint
Oregano
Wormwood
Coriander (sounds like it's a kind that is good for seed and leaf on the packet. I only used it for leaves last year)
Parsley 'Plain Flat Leaved 2'
Basil 'Purple Ruffles'
Lavender
Borage (cucumber flavour leaves that are fuzzy and yellow-green in colour. Gets blue flowers and is apparently invastive if left go to seed. You've been warned.)

Fruits:
<s>Strawberry 'Fresca' (a kind of alpine patio/container variety. Extremely tiny seeds. Does not produce runners.)</s> Gone.
Melon 'Sweetheart F1' can be container grown and grown up sturdy trellis. Looks like a cantaloupe with orange flesh.

Vegetables:
Radish 'Scarlet Globe' done very well for me in containers especially when planted in the same container as beans. Photo of them is my user icon for this post.
Baby Leaf Salad, Lettuce mixed. A mix of Red, Cos, red-tinged batavia & oak-leaf lettuce varieties.
Spring Onion 'White Lisbon' (have both Organic and non-organic due to having lost the first packet of seeds)
<s>Capsicum (sweet/bell peppers) 'Rainbow Mixed F1' - seriously I think this is a mixed packet of sweet pepper seeds. I got some non-round shaped peppers out of it along with reds, oranges and purple peppers. Should be grown in some sort of greenhouse even if it's a cheapo plastic/PVC covered frame one. </s> Gone.
Sweet Pepper 'Oro' Organic. Long red sweet pepper. Not tried it yet. Greenhouse crop as above.
Hot pepper 'Early Jalapeno' Organic. - Jalapenos! What more can I say? They're great for poppers filled with herbed cream cheese. Not tried growing these but one germinated today. Another greenhouse crop.
Carrot 'Parmex' small, bite-size round carrot. Won't be growing these again in containers because I didn't feel they were worth the wait.
Lettuce 'Red Salad Bowl' Organic.
Leaf Beet 'Bright Lights', also known as Chard, leafy bits can be used as spinach, thick bright coloured stems can be used in stirfries.
Tomato 'Ailsa Craig' Medium sized tomato.
Claytonia 'Winter Purslane' Organic."winter" crop to be sown in September. Winter producing salad.
Radish 'Black Spanish Round' Organic. Sow June-August, winter cropping radish.
Climbing French Beans 'Barlotta di Fuoco' Organic. Climbs up canes, can be used for dried beans or for fresh pods.

Sprouting Seeds:
Mustard 'White' Very very peppery and hot flavoured.
Thompson & Morgan Salad Alfalfa.
